Breakthrough Facilitation Cohort 5 + a Postcard from Sicily

Gwyn Wansbrough, the creator of Breakthrough Facilitation, is launching her 5th cohort today, Wednesday, 6th September.

5th! I'm a proud alumni of Gwyn's very first cohort.

If you lead Zoom calls or make your living bringing together groups of people — as a presenter, teacher, coach, community leader, or team leader, I recommend checking out Gwyn's immersive group learning experience.

The opportunity is priceless. I appreciated:

1. Seeing Gwyn role model what good facilitation practices are.

2. Learning, practicing, and applying what I learned with a vibrant and supportive community. Check out Breakthrough Facilitation's learning approach 😀

3. Learning Gwyn's tried and tested Breakthrough Arc Framework — which I continue to rely on and use to this day. It's incredible to understand what's involved in enabling transformation for others, and use the structured framework to develop my skills. It has helped me both professionally and personally.

I am also honoured to have helped Gwyn develop her Virtual Facilitator Coefficient, and incorporate it as a key part of her course.

Breakthrough Facilitation begins and ends with a snapshot of your virtual facilitation skills to help you identify opportunities for growth and chart your progress. This gives you real data on how you’ve grown throughout our time together. You’ll receive a PDF report so you can continue to grow as a facilitator.

For a glimpse of the Virtual Facilitator Coefficient in action, check out this video of my conversation with Gwyn where I share my mind-blowing facilitation journey since Breakthrough Facilitation's first cohort in September 2021 🤯

With Gwyn's expertise in facilitation and learning experience design, I have featured Gwyn's use of her Virtual Facilitator Coefficient in my newsletters. You're welcome to check them out here:

Breakthrough Facilitation runs September 26th through October 26th. Registration closes on September 17th.

The course is limited to 20 participants so you get personalised feedback and lots of opportunities to apply what you learn. The course usually sells out.

If you'd like to meet Gwyn and learn more, Gwyn is hosting a free Exceptional Virtual Facilitator Workshop on Thursday, September 7th, at 11am ET. Sign up to get a taste of the course and pick up some facilitation skills you can use immediately in your work.

Postcard from Sicily

Last week I took a week off from writing this newsletter — Jaz and I were in Sicily to catch the late Summer sun.

One of the coolest things we did was checking out Selinunte Archaeological Park, the largest of its kind in Europe.

It was an incredible experience to be amongst the remnants of a settlement next to the ocean with temples and a marketplace built in the 7th century BC.

Thanks for reading!

If you enjoyed this week’s newsletter, I'd love to hear what resonated for you.

Wishing you a great week!

Curious about MySnapshot and how it can accelerate your learners’ results and measure your program's ROI?

Want a sounding board for developing your program's framework?

I love working with course creators, coaches, and communities to create:

  • A clear and powerful framework for their program which enables their learners' focus and progress.
  • Visuals of their frameworks to bring them to life.
  • A self-assessment that measures their learners' progress, and the impact of their program.

Just reply to this email and tell me a bit about you, your program or community, and what you'd like to work on together and I'll get you all the details.

A postcard from Barcelona today, where I've been the last few days to celebrate my birthday. The trip has been a great reminder for me on the power of rest, taking time out, and mixing up my environments. I can never get enough aeroplane views! Not only can it be fun to take time out, it nurtures our ability to 'incubate', the second stage of the four-stage process of creativity. To incubate is to not think consciously about a problem or topic. To let our brain have “downtime” and space to...
